In an hour, the hour-hand  covers 5 divisions where as the minute-hand covers all the 60 divisions.
Thus "the minute-hand gains 55 minute spaces on the hour hand".

The two hands of the clock coincide once in every hour.

The two hands of the clocks will be at right angles twice in every hour.(15 minute spaces apart).

The two hands of the clock will be in opposite direction, once in every hour (30 minute spaces apart).

The two hands of the clock will be in the same straight line when they are coincident or opposite to each other.

If a watch indicates 8.20, when the correct time is 8.05, it is said to be 15 minutes too fast. And
If it indicates 8.00, when the correct time is 8.05, it is said to be 5 minutes too slow.
